Somewhere between the warmup and the call room, a bedazzling pen has entered professional track. Runners are hand setting rhinestones and sequins onto their own competition kit, turning a uniform into something that throws light across a whole stadium.

Yes, it weighs more. The argument is that confidence weighs something too, and that showing up looking like a disco ball changes how the next 400 meters feel. Hard to test in a lab. Very easy to see from the stands.
