In April 2026 the Hypebeast Run Club put lululemon's SS26 running collection through the only test that matters in a city: four miles across Manhattan, with a pizza stop built into the route. Matt James was along for it.
The verdict on the clothes was less about fabric weight than about where they can go. The collection leans into bold prints that, in the crew's words, wouldn't look out of place off the track. Which is the quiet standard now. Run kit has to survive the run and then survive being seen.
The format is the story too. Wear-testing has migrated out of the lab and into the run club, judged at conversational pace by people who will be photographed afterward.
