Nairobi takes the 2029 World Athletics Championships, the first ever held in Africa. London and Rome lost. Munich gets 2031.
World Athletics handed the 2029 Championships to Nairobi on Tuesday. It is the first time the World Championships will be staged in Africa, in a country that has spent sixty years supplying the sport with its distance royalty and never once hosted its biggest meet.
London and Rome both bid. Both lost. Munich takes 2031.
