norda Built Black Diamond a Brand New Shoe

Not a co-branded colorway. A new silhouette, the 000, plus sailcloth packs and laser-etched poles. The mountain collab finally done properly.

Most collaborations take a shoe off the shelf and add a second logo. norda and Black Diamond refused. Their long-term partnership opens with the norda x Black Diamond 000, an all-new silhouette built for long days on uneven, unpredictable ground, with a Dyneema upper over a Vibram Stream Flow midsole and a Megagrip Litebase outsole. Believe in the Run called it one of the toughest collabs on Earth. It is $295.

The rest of the drop follows the shoe. The Distance Pack and Mini Mission Duffel are cut from Challenge Sailcloth, Black Diamond's answer to Dyneema, with embroidered details. The trekking poles get anodization and laser etching nobody has put on a pole before. The whole collection runs from $12 to $330 and landed August 26.

"We built this partnership from the ground up, quite literally." Adam John, norda Creative Director, to Hypebeast.

The link between the two brands is Joe Grant, the Black Diamond athlete whose way of moving through mountains, in Dan Rowe's words, has evolved into something more than numbers and data. Read the full interview at Hypebeast and the hands-on at Believe in the Run.
