Ryan Sandes has won most of the things worth winning. Cocodona is 250 miles across Arizona, and the film Salomon TV put out in April is not about whether he can finish it. It is about a man in the back half of a career trying to remember why any of this was fun.
It has cleared 54,000 views, which for a desert ultra film is a small crowd of people who watched a stranger walk through the night and felt something. The Arizona light does a lot of the work. So does the silence between the talking.
