Summer Roads Pulls Up to Beach to Beacon

Episode seven of Tracksmith's summer series lands on the Maine coast, and the whole run of it is quietly the best road-running television going.

Tracksmith has been putting out Summer Roads all season, an episode at a time, and episode seven goes to Beach to Beacon. The series has already stopped at Yankee Homecoming and the Newburyport 10 Miler. It is not hype-reel filmmaking. It is closer to slow TV for people who like New England in August.

The pitch is simple and hard to resist: sea light, warm asphalt, singlets that look like they were cut in 1978. Watch two episodes and you will start pricing flights to Portland.
