Eighteen Pairs, All of Them Black

Takahiro Miyashita took the 6-Inch Premium Waterproof Boot, blacked out every single component, and made eighteen of them.

An all-black six-inch leather boot with a small black zip attachment at the ankle, photographed on a black lacquered floor in near darkness.
Visual: RUNLUST studio render

Timberland's first collaboration with Number (N)ine by Takahiro Miyashita is a limited edition of 18 pairs. Eighteen. The base is the signature 6-Inch Premium Waterproof Boot, and every component, boot, laces, hardware, all of it, is rendered in black.

The one addition is an original zip-up attachment built for the collaboration, embossed with the Number (N)ine by Takahiro Miyashita name. Miyashita oversaw the campaign visuals himself, styled by Tsuyoshi Noguchi and shot by TAKAY.

Not a running boot, obviously. But the discipline of taking an icon and removing every color from it is the same discipline that makes the best blacked-out trail shoes work.
